Here is our new shower, modeled by our kitten,

The re-do was necessitated by a leak.
The shower was NOT tiled by us--it was just way too big a job!
We chose classic subway tile, without any fancy mosaics or decorative bits.
It's white (the 1st and last pictures are more accurate) but
not bright white.
Subway tile just doesn't go out of style--it won't look dated in ten years, since
it's been around for about one hundred!
We also chose simple, classic styling for the shower hardware.
Isn't it lovely?
Now I'm planning on more redecorating of the master bath!
